A note from Sara…

Welcome to the Summer edition of What’s On in Theatr Hafren! I’m sure that you’re all looking forward to long warm summer days, barbecues and picnics, however, amongst the wide variety of shows coming up this summer, I’m sure that you will find something to tempt you!

Over the coming months you will find most genres of entertainment. From Ballet to Comedy Stand-up and everything in between. We are delighted to welcome back the world famous stand up Lee Evans, other returnees include the European Union Chamber Orchestra who will be bringing the Prince of Wales’s harpist Claire Jones as their soloist. Drama is not forgotten with a moving account of Aung San Suu Kyi’s life under house arrest in The Lady of Burma and as a complete contrast watch out for the crazy antics of Lip Service who are bringing Jane Bond – prepare to be amazed!

We are showcasing plenty of local talent on our stage this season – The Montgomeryshire County Drama Association One Act Play Festival, the amazing Ysgol Theatr Maldwyn, and a special celebratory concert from the North Powys Youth Orchestra.

Book now for the award winning Mid Wales Opera’s production of Offenbach’s Tales of Hoffman. This wonderful opera includes the famous aria Barcarolle, and will delight the whole family.
